From San Francisco, Sacramento area or the Reno area take "Highway 80" to Truckee. Take "Lake Tahoe, Tahoe City, Highway 89" exit and continue going east past Squaw Valley Ski area towards Tahoe City.
At the entrance to Tahoe City, veer right at the "Y" (by Albertson’s market on the left), cross a small bridge over the Truckee River (Fanny Bridge) traveling south towards Homewood. This is highway 89 which is also known as West Lake Blvd. Go about 3 miles on this road. You will not be able to see the lake for those 3 miles. Slow down when you see the lake on your left, get ready to turn right into the driveway, which is opposite the pier with our name MALONE on your left. If you see a sign "Town & Country Lodge" on the right, (this lodge is now apartments), you have gone about three houses too far. The house is a two story brick and stucco, with white columns on the front and a balcony along the front of the second floor. From the South Shore, Casinos and Heavenly Ski area take Highway 89 around the lake past Emerald Bay. This will take about ½ hour to 40 minutes. From San Francisco area it will take you about 3 ½ hours. From Sacramento area it will take you about 1 ½ hours. Form Reno area it will take about ½ hour.
